Input needed, Chapter Delegates will vote at 2017 National Convention
House of Delegates: AMTA and the Massage Profession
Every year AMTA holds a national convention either on the west coast, the east coast, or somewhere in between. The afternoon before the convention starts elected Delegates from all 51 AMTA Chapters have a meeting where they debate and vote on proposed statements regarding how AMTA does business or promotes the massage profession.
We want your input to help Washington Chapter Delegates decide how to vote.
This year in Pasadena, CA Delegates will discuss 2 items.
- Position Statement: Massage therapy can provide significant benefit as a component of integrated health care.Extensive research goes into forming a position statement, which if approved, will automatically be adopted as the AMTA’s position on the subject and posted on the National website here.Read the full document, as proposed by the Maryland Chapter: Massage therapy can provide significant benefit as a component of integrated health care. - Recommendation regarding: Chapter Allowance of Dues received from National for Student Membership Classification. ($10 per student)A portion of every member’s annual $235 membership dues are given directly to the member’s chapter, except for student members, who pay between $0 and $20 for their student membership. Chapters currently receive no funds for student members. This recommendation would allow chapters $10 per student member.
